Please join us in recognizing graduating family medicine resident Sean Lombard DO who was awarded the 2025 Dr. Russell DeJong Excellence in Scholarship Award at MDFMR’s 11th annual Scholarly Activity Symposium. At the Symposium Dr. Lombard delivered a talk on his original research project studying POCUS utilization in a rural emergency department. Equal parts entertaining and illuminating, Dr. Lombard’s presentation highlighted both the value of optimizing use of point of care ultrasound in the emergency setting and the frustrations encountered in obtaining data necessary to study POCUS utilization.
