Nurse Practitioner, Geriatric Medicine: Maine-Dartmouth’s geriatric medicine program comprises two nurse practitioners and five geriatricians who, in collaboration with a robust interprofessional team, provide care to older adults in a variety of settings that include an outpatient primary care and specialty consultative clinic, multiple assisted living facilities, a nursing home, the hospital, and the community.
We have an opening for a certified and Maine-licensed nurse practitioner with excellent clinical and communication skills, a passion for teaching and leadership development, and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary team-based care to join our geriatric care team, primarily working in the outpatient primary care setting. Given the complexity of care, there is more time allowed for visits, with standard 60-minute new patient visits, 40-minute acute care visits. This position is a good match for someone who values the extra time to provide excellent care to patients.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and enjoys working with patients and families to make decisions in situations of uncertainty. Job responsibilities are primarily clinical, comprising continuity care and acute visits for older adults in an outpatient setting. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
This is a Monday-Friday position, with 32 clinical and 8 administrative hours per week. Call is by phone from home and covering only our group’s patients. It is split equally between the 8 members of the group, with frequency equating to one weeknight every other week and one weekend every other month.
NP or PA: We have an opening for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant with strong clinical skills, a passion for teaching, and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary team-based care to join our faculty. Comfort with structurally vulnerable populations in a primary care setting is a plus, experience in delivering acute and preventive primary care is a must. The ideal candidate is energetic, flexible, and dedicated to high quality patient care. This position is based at our Waterville outpatient family medicine practice (Maine Dartmouth Family Practice).
Family Medicine Physician: This core family medicine residency faculty position at the Family Medicine Institute in Augusta combines direct clinical care, teaching, curricular development, and administrative work, with opportunities available to practice full-spectrum family medicine including obstetrics. AOBFP or ABFM board certification is required.
College Health Physician: MDFMR is recruiting a full-time faculty physician for MaineGeneral College Health in Waterville that combines direct clinical care of adolescents from local colleges, overseeing nurse visits, and managing day to day operations of the college health practice. There will be opportunity for teaching and curricular development within this role. Opportunities are available to practice full-spectrum family medicine in conjunction with Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency, including inpatient medicine and obstetrics with our core family medicine faculty. This position is open to family medicine or pediatric medicine board-certified physicians.
Clinical Dermatologist: This position for a board-certified dermatologist is based in the Waterville office of MDFMR Dermatology, an established and growing dermatology practice that uniquely blends outpatient clinical work with teaching opportunities. MDFMR Dermatology’s focus is medical and surgical dermatology with additional services such as Mohs surgery, phototherapy, vascular LASER, and total body photography available on site. The clinical team utilizes medical scribing to help with precision and efficiency. Time for teaching and research is both valued and protected.
