Interview Information

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we will be conducting virtual interviews until further notice.

The Interview Process

Our sports medicine fellowship participates in the primary care sports medicine match. Candidates are invited to interview after their ERAS application is reviewed by the fellowship’s Selection Committee. Our selection process is competitive.

Our interview season typically commences in late September and is completed by mid-November. We conduct interviews  twice per week.

Getting to Maine

We recommend flying into Portland ME which is the closest major airport. However, Manchester NH, Bangor ME and Boston are also options. A rental car can be reserved at any of these airports.

Accommodations

When your interview is scheduled, we will reserve a room for you at the Civic Center Comfort Inn in Augusta and send you the confirmation number so you can contact the hotel and verify your reservation. This one-night stay, the evening before your interview, is at the fellowship’s expense and includes a hot continental breakfast. Any additional nights and incidentals are at the candidate’s expense.

Transportation on Interview Day

Candidates will need their own transportation to the hotel and to all interview locations. Please keep in mind that Maine is a largely rural state, with public transportation limited to only the most metropolitan parts (and Augusta is not one of those, despite being the state capital!).

Interview Day

The interview day typically begins at MaineGeneral Orthopaedics in Augusta and typically starts at 8:00 in the morning.
