Marie Dardeno, DO
Medical School: University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine
Family Medicine Residency: Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency
Originally from the Boston area, Dr. Marie Dardeno moved to Vermont, where she studied anthropology and conducted undergraduate research at the University of Vermont. Inspired both by her volunteer work in Ghana and by her own experiences as a patient of an osteopathic physician, she chose to pursue a career in osteopathic medicine. Dr. Dardeno earned her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and completed family medicine residency at the Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in Augusta. Following residency, she spent five years practicing in Falmouth, Maine, with a focus on osteopathic manipulative treatment and integrative medicine. She is now pursuing ONMM3 residency training at Maine-Dartmouth to further deepen her expertise in osteopathic manipulative medicine and expand her ability to care for patients through a comprehensive, hands-on approach.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Dardeno enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
Maeve Hickey, DO
Medical School: University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine
Family Medicine Residency: Brown University – Warwick
Pronouns: they/she
Dr. Maeve Hickey is a family medicine–trained physician with a deep commitment to full-spectrum, patient-centered care. They strive to be an inclusive, empathetic, and attentive provider who meets patients where they are, with a focus on listening, trust-building, and whole-person healing. Maeve discovered osteopathic medicine serendipitously, but quickly found that its principles aligned closely with their core beliefs: that the body has an innate capacity for healing, and that effective care requires attention not only to physical symptoms, but also to the mind, spirit, environment, and social determinants that shape health. With a broad clinical background, Maeve is passionate about caring for diverse patient populations and a wide range of conditions. Their specific interests include addiction medicine, chronic pain, LGBTQIA2S+ health, the nursing dyad, and abortion care. They bring a strong foundation in palpatory awareness—shaped in part by years of working with horses—which informs their approach to osteopathic manipulative medicine and their sensitivity to the physical and emotional states of patients. Outside of medicine, Maeve enjoys hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, and traveling. They have a background as a wilderness therapy guide for adolescents, reflecting a longstanding dedication to supporting people through challenging periods in their lives. Maeve also enjoys board games, plant-based cooking, sustainability practices, and small creative pursuits like collecting plants, rocks, and stickers, as well as exploring astrology. They can often be found with a cup of coffee in hand, working toward the goal of mastering espresso and latte art.
