Stephanie grew up in the small town of Saratoga, Wyoming. She received a bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming, where she was named outstanding senior in the college of business. Prior to medical school, Stephanie had a career as a certified public accountant for the accounting firm Ernst and Young, in Denver, Colorado. In 1993, Stephanie made a career change and matriculated at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and received her doctor of medicine degree in May of 1997. While in medical school, Stephanie was active in many organizations, including Medical Student Council as the president and the Student Ambassador Program, and was named Family Medicine Scholar. She graduated from Maine-Dartmouth and has since joined our faculty as a founding physician in the Four Seasons practice in Fairfield, Maine. Stephanie served as Director of Clinical Medicine for the Residency practices for a number of years and currently serves as the Residency’s patient safety officer.

Stephanie lives in Oakland, where she raised her three children in the Messalonskee school district. Two of her children are now also pursuing careers in medicine! As well as traveling back to the mountain west whenever she can to see family, Stephanie enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and snowshoeing with friends anywhere in Maine.
