Dr. Mickool Selected for International Interprofessional Policy Development Workgroup

We wish to recognize our University of New England pharmacy colleague Dr. Dan Mickool for being selected to serve on the policy development working group of the Global Confederation for Interprofessional Education & Collaborative Practice. Dr. Mickool is the only pharmacist chosen, and one of 5 Americans among 35 international work group members.

The policy development working group has been tasked by the World Health Organization to:

  • Develop an information note on IPECP (interprofessional education and collaborative practice) that is aligned with existing policy statements on population health that can be used by interprofessional networks and programs around the world
  • Update the Framework for Action on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (2010)
  • Update the Sydney Declaration

Dr. Mickool is a leader in Maine-Dartmouth’s interprofessional education efforts and an inspiring teacher, mentor, and partner.  The opportunity to further IPE on a global scale is a huge honor, and Dan Mickool’s knowledge, background, and sheer enthusiasm for the work will make him a deeply valued contributor. Huge congratulations, Dr. Mickool!
