Brett Powers, MD

Medical School: Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont
Family Medicine Residency: Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency

Pronouns: she/her

Though she was raised in northern California, Brett now considers herself a steadfast New Englander. She is a family medicine physician dedicated to providing whole-person care for all stages of life. She received an undergraduate degree in studio art at Georgetown University and a master’s degree in global and public health at the University of California, San Francisco. She studied medicine at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, followed by a residency in family medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She then worked for several years at a community health center in mid-coast Maine before craving a return to a teaching environment. She thrives on the inherent variety in family medicine but has particular interest in adolescent behavioral health, reproductive health, and health equity. She is a believer in meeting patients where they are, the power of the collective, and a good cold plunge. Her mudroom is full of clogs and dog accessories.
