Dr. Alyssa Finn originally hails from Massachusetts and has a bachelor’s degree in religion with a minor in Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont. After college she moved from New England to Colorado and spent time working in a restaurant and at a homeless shelter, as well as skiing and bicycling as much as possible. She moved back East to New York City to pursue a degree in clinical nutrition and dietetics, but with completion of that program, realized she wanted more and so enrolled in a post baccalaureate pre-med program at NYU, thus beginning her journey into medicine. In her fourth year of medical school she did an integrative medicine elective in Tucson Arizona, which fueled her interest and opened her eyes to alternative ways of healing in addition to traditional Western medicine. Alyssa is grateful for her teachers in Arizona, and for residency training which also uplifted the flame of integrative medicine and inspired her to complete fellowship in integrative medicine and get certified in clinical hypnosis. In addition to integrative medicine and mind body medicine, she loves to practice true preventive and lifestyle medicine, helping patients to eat more healthfully, learn how to cook healthful and delicious foods, exercise, get good restorative sleep, and work on ways to decrease stress. She is passionate about reproductive health and addiction medicine and loves facilitating group medical visits with patients.
Outside of medicine, Alyssa enjoys being outside exploring the natural world, in the woods and on the water. She loves cooking and baking, especially sourdough bread baking, and adores spending time with her wife and daughter. She also loves music and is currently learning to play the banjo.
