Theresa has lived in a few different places but considers herself a Midwesterner, having grown up in southern Illinois. Before moving to New England to pursue a career in medicine, she was a teacher and lecturer in Texas, teaching writing and literature at several universities and colleges in the Austin area. She has a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Columbia College Chicago and an MFA in fiction from Texas State University. Most recently, she is a graduate of the University of New England’s physician assistant program. Currently, she lives in southern Maine with her wife, Lauren, and their dog, Oates. In her spare time, she loves reading novels and short stories, watching movies, listening to podcasts, and going to museums. She hopes to do more traveling in the future.
