Pronunciation of Dr. Kate Anderson

Dr. Kate Anderson joined the faculty in fall of 2016 after completing a family medicine residency at Maine-Dartmouth, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She is a Connecticut native with an undergraduate degree from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and a medical degree from University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Kate is board-certified in family medicine and thrilled to remain at Maine-Dartmouth where she can feed her passion for teaching. Kate has a particular interest in inter-professional education. She believes that a strong healthcare team, with the patient at the center and multidisciplinary team members who communicate well and harness one another’s expertise, is the key to delivering exceptional care. A long-standing dedication to underserved populations fuels her other area of professional interest, behavioral health integration. As a primary care physician, Kate believes healthcare should be accessible, and she strives to provide whole-person care that acknowledges the connection between physical health and emotional health and well-being.

When she isn’t working, Kate spends time with her husband and children and enjoys gardening, kickboxing, and dreaming of travel to exotic places.
