Medical School: Creighton University School of Medicine
Family Medicine Residency: Eastern Maine Medical Center
This real Wyoming “cowgirl” is a fourth generation native of Cheyenne, Wyoming who never learned to ride a horse. Homegrown and educated at the University of Wyoming, she went on to Creighton University School of Medicine to pursue her dream of becoming a family physician. An adventure to Maine took her to residency training at Eastern Maine Medical Center where Amy made great friends, got great training, and learned to love the forest and the sea. Practice opportunities took her to Monticello, Minnesota for two years where she learned to love lakes and mosquitos, then back to Cheyenne, where she was in private practice for several years before being wooed to the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program. Amy has practiced full-spectrum family medicine, including obstetrics, throughout her career. She served as full-time MDFMR faculty for four years, then as part-time faculty. Her many areas of interest in teaching include obstetrics and women’s health procedures. Involvement in STFM, Wyoming Medical Society, and the local hospital Credentialing and Privileging Committee has kept her on her toes.
Books, reading, cooking, and entertaining are some of the things Amy enjoys, as well as skiing, swimming, hiking, fishing and community service.
