Nate Bowling, MD, CM

Medical School: McGill University Faculty of Medicine
Family Medicine Residency: Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency

Following his training at Maine-Dartmouth, Nate decided to pursue his interest in addiction medicine and accepted a position with MaineGeneral Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services, providing medical care to patients suffering from substance use disorders. He spends part of his time doing similar work at one of the residency practices, where he also teaches addiction medicine to family medicine residents.

As anyone stuck in a room with Nate for more than a few minutes is aware, Nate proudly hails from the great state of Rhode Island.  He completed an undergraduate degree in neuroscience at Brown University, where he spent a lot of time contemplating the science of sleep as well as the biology of Alzheimer’s disease.  Following a few years of work in Seattle, furthering his understanding of both of those fields, he ventured abroad to the frigid hinterlands of Montréal, Québec to complete medical school. He and his wife were fortunate enough to match to residency together in Maine and have since started a family.

When he is not at work, he enjoys exploring Maine, attempting to run marathons, working on his French, and spending time with his family.
