University of New England
Katherine was born and raised in Rochester, NY, where she grew to love science and serving in her community at a young age. She became interested in a career as a physician assistant after breaking her collarbone as a teenager and meeting a “really nice doctor,” who she later found out was a physician assistant. She earned a B.S. in physiology and developmental biology from Brigham Young University and found fulfillment working as a certified nursing assistant at a long-term and rehabilitative care center during her undergraduate work. Katherine attended the University of New England Physician Assistant Program where she fell in love with both the people and nature of Maine while living in different parts of the state for 6 weeks at a time during her clinical rotations. Katherine joined MDMFR in September 2016 and is excited to provide care in the Augusta area. When not seeing patients, Katherine enjoys traveling, knitting, running, and enjoying the great Maine wilderness.
