Furthering scholarship is a priority at MDFMR, and a number of resources exist to support a culture of scholarly activity within the MDFMR community. Among them:
- A director of research with a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of research and peer-review publication
- A research coordinator with experience in research implementation
- A hospital-based Institutional Review Board and an internal representative to the IRB
- Faculty development opportunities
- “Critical Thinking in Medicine” block for residents
- Colleagues with experience in conducting, publishing, and presenting original research as well as editing peer-review journals
