Thomas M. Nevola, M.D.
Tom Nevola was a senior resident at the Maine-Dartmouth Family Practice Residency when he was killed in an automobile accident in March, 1986. Tom believed strongly that understanding and nurturing the spiritual dimension of patients' lives is an essential part of the healing process. With the support of contributions from a large number of colleagues, patients, friends and family, the Tom Nevola Memorial Fund creates an ongoing living monument to these efforts and to Tom. The Nevola Symposium is an annual program of continuing education and interdisciplinary dialogue which is intended to integrate medical and spiritual perspectives and resources in health, healing and wellness.
