Kathryn Wistar, MD

Born in northern California and raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., Kathy has led a bicoastal life as an adult. She worked as a political activist throughout the 1980's, and honed her fence climbing and creative demonstrating/street theatre skills in that decade. Her work experiences included being an office manager for a Chinese Medicine clinic, AIDS hotline counselor, and medical assistant. She volunteered organizing workshops on pregnancy prevention and abortion, working as a needle exchange program volunteer and a health educator, to name a few. She and her partner Matthew have two daughters - Ida and Kala - who keep her in line. Kathy completed her MDFPR residency in 2005 and the geriatrics fellowship in 2008. She is now practicing family medicine and geriatrics at Sheepscot Valley Health Center in Coopers Mills, ME.
