Nancy Zurbach, MD

Medical College of Pennsylvania
Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency

Nancy Zurbach, MDAfter residency at Maine-Dartmouth, Nancy worked at Webb Memorial Clinic in Hector, Arkansas. In addition to serving in the National Health Service Corps, she practiced at the Sheepscot Valley Health Center in Coopers Mills, Maine, before returning to Maine-Dartmouth as a faculty member. A few of her professional passions include literature and medicine, ethics, seeing her patients, and having a long term relationship with them. In fact, Nancy recently delivered a baby of a mother she delivered 19 years ago. Outside of work, she is driven by her insatiable interests in the Civil War and touring its battlefields, the study of World War I and the Holocaust, collecting toy soldiers, and reading. While these endeavors feed her mind, she rejuvenates while running and playing racquetball, and feeds her soul romping with her dogs Angie and Vinnie. As Nancy sees it, reasons for enjoying work at the residency are myriad: "the people who work here, the freedom to be yourself, the challenge of being with the residents, having my own office, no dress code, the spirit of the FMI, the chaos of the FMI, the good senses of humor, the commitment to take good care of our patients, the dedication to the underdog, no drug salespeople, and encouragement to learn and grow."
