Catherine Chamberlin

University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine

Catherine was born here in Augusta, Maine. She completed her undergraduate training in Biology at Dartmouth College. Prior to entering medical school, Catherine worked as an Outward Bound course instructor, a dogsledding guide and an instructor for the Wilderness Medical Institute and the Boulder Outdoor Survival School. She also served a two-year term as a member of the board of the Lwala Community Alliance, managing a community health center in Lwala, Kenya. Catherine then went on to attend medical school at UNE-COM. While there, she served as an OMM teaching assistant and as president of the wilderness medicine club. She also served nationally as a student member of the board of the Wilderness Medical Society. Catherine currently lives in West Gardiner with her husband and son; outside of medicine she enjoys a variety of outdoor sports including mountaineering, ultra-marathons and biking.


Josie Conte

University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine

Josie was born in New York and currently lives in Portland, Maine. She completed her undergraduate studies in dance at SUNY-Brockport. After more than twenty years of work as a dance instructor, massage therapist and childbirth educator, she entered medical school at UNE-COM. Josie was an active member and president of the local AMWA chapter at UNE. She also completed an additional year as an osteopathic research fellow between her second and third years of medical school. Outside of medicine, she enjoys gardening, dance, yoga and spending time with her family.


Kelvin Kemp

University of Texas Medical School at Houston

Kelvin was born in California and hails most recently from Texas. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology at the University of New Mexico and went on to earn an MBA at Houston Baptist University. He then pursued training in public health, earning a MPH from the University of Texas with a focus in epidemiology and disease control. Kelvin continued on to medical school at the University of Texas. While living in Houston he also served as a volunteer for Healthcare for the Homeless and participated in microbiology research that led to publication in the journal, Infection and Immunity. Outside of medicine, he enjoys travel, classical music, outdoor activities and spending time with his family.


Alicia Mancuso

University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine

Alicia was born in New Jersey and now lives in China, Maine. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Maine, Orono and worked for a year as a medical assistant prior to entering medical school at UNE-COM. Alicia has volunteered at her local humane society and food bank; she also worked as an OMM teaching assistant and served as a pharmacy technician at the Biddeford Free Clinic. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking and reading. She and her partner also co-manage a 300-acre farm with a herd of more than thirty Angus cattle.


Kevin McGuire

Saba University School of Medicine

Kevin is from Nova Scotia, Canada and is the son of a family physician. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia and went on to medical school at Saba University. Kevin has volunteered providing health education to children and teens in his hometown and while in medical school contributed to a book chapter in a pending trauma surgery textbook. At Saba, he also served as an anatomy tutor and a new student mentor. In his spare time, he enjoys ice hockey, soccer, weight training and listening to music.


Tiffanny Pitts

Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences

Tiffanny was born in New Orleans and grew up in Alabama. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Alabama, followed by a Master's in Educational Psychology from the University of Alabama. She went on to medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, while she simultaneously completed an MBA in Healthcare Leadership. She served as president of the local ACOFP chapter and was actively involved in the integrative medicine interest group. Tiffanny spent much of her time volunteering, including a local free clinic and as a community tutor for inner city youth. Tiffanny's interests in medicine include the whole spectrum of family medicine with specific emphasis on holistic and integrative therapies, nutrition, and OMT. Upon graduation, Tiffanny looks forward to rejoining her partner and pets in Kansas City and practicing in a rural community.


Michael Posch

University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine

Michael was born in Washington, DC. He completed his undergraduate degree in piano performance at Virginia Tech, followed by a master’s degree also in piano performance at The Catholic University of America. After work as both a teacher and performer of piano in the United States and Europe, Michael proceeded to medical school at UNE-COM. His professional interests lie in traditional osteopathy. Michael is fluent in Hungarian and Spanish. In his spare tme he enjoys music, martial arts, skiing and travel.


Brian Rodriguez

Drexel University College of Medicine

Brian is originally from Vermont. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Colby College, where he also worked as an on-campus EMT and a biology teaching assistant. After a year of working as a medical assistant in a neurosurgery practice, Brian entered medical school at Drexel. His interests outside of medicine include soccer, cycling, water sports, guitar and photography.


Karren Seely

University of Arizona College of Medicine

Karren is from Southern Arizona. She completed her undergraduate degree in Studio Art at the University of Arizona, where she also volunteered as the director of the LGBT resource center on campus. Karren completed EMT-basic training and gained six years of experience as an EMT in Tucson. She went on to medical school at the University of Arizona where she participated in the university’s Rural Health Professions Program and served as the president of Med Pride. Her interests outside of medicine include reading, skiing, climbing, sailing, photography, sculpture and violin.


Daniel Zahn

Temple University School of Medicine

Dan

Daniel hails from Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Dickinson College where he volunteered for the local domestic violence center. After a year of teaching English in Japan, he went on to medical school at Temple University. As a medical student, he served as a member of the student council and the coordinator of a medical ethics elective. In his spare time, he enjoys ethics, philosophy, ultimate Frisbee, tennis, poetry and swing dancing.
